Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2012 im Fachbereich Psychologie - Sozialpsychologie, Note: 1,0, Universität Potsdam (Institut für Erziehungswissenschaft), Veranstaltung: Einführung in die Mehrebenenanalyse, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Der ehemalige britische Premierminister Winston Churchill prägte einst das Sprichwort "A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty." und traf damit den Kern des Themas, das im Zentrum dieser Arbeit stehen soll. Optimisten wird nachgesagt, dass sie erwarten, dass das Blatt sich immer zum Guten wendet oder das Glas für sie immer halb voll ist. Solche Konzepte haben eine lange Geschichte in der Volksweisheit aber auch in frühen Versuchen, Personen in ihrer Persönlichkeit zu klassifizieren. Wenn dem so ist, sollten Personen, die mit einer optimistischen Sicht der Dinge auch den Schwierigkeiten des Alltags begegnen eine bessere Befindlichkeit und Stimmung aufweisen, als Personen, die diese positive Grundeinstellung nicht teilen. Dies sollte zu einem Vorteil bei Schwierigkeiten oder Belastungen, wie etwa durch negativen Stress, führen. Solch eine bessere Grundstimmung ist nicht nur aus verhaltenspsychologischer Perspektive von Interesse, beispielsweise um zu verstehen, wie Personen mit verschiedenen Situationen umgehen und sich dabei voneinander unterscheiden, sondern auch aus einer medizinischen Perspektive. Denn ein positiverer Umgang mit Schwierigkeiten und Stress, der für Personen weniger belastend ist sowie eine bessere Stimmung und Befindlichkeit der Personen, sollte auch zu weniger psychischen aber auch physischen Erkrankungen führen. Vor diesem Hintergrund wurde in der vorliegenden Arbeit untersucht, ob Optimismus die Beziehung zwischen negativem Stress und Stimmung bedeutsam beeinflusst, ob also die oben vermuteten Vorteile nachgewiesen werden konnten. Daneben war natürlich auch von Interesse, ob Optimisten an sich schon eine bessere Grundstimmung aufwiesen und ob Stress d
