This 5-Pack is intended for use as a SUPPLEMENT for the Teacher's Kit, and is an option to ordering individual copies of the Student Workbook. While a razor blade will work, we recommend you take the book to an office supply or printer store for help. "Beyond: 5-Pack of Student Handouts in Black and White" is intended for groups. It contains FIVE (5) copies of each of the TWO-page (2-page) handouts for the TEN (10) core lessons and the OPENING LESSON. Useful for teaching the character of God using the "Beyond Yet Still With You" poem, this 5-Pack will help you * lead adult discussions, * teach introductory theology, * present material in Sunday Schools, and * equip groups of students in Home and Private School settings. A delightful reminder of the constant presence and protecting grace of God, studying "Beyond Yet Still With You" will be a blessing for anyone who has ever felt distant from God. This volume is SPECIFICALLY INTENDED for groups, whether yours is studying basic theology, reading, or prepositions of place, or bringing comfort to people in a group of hurting people. "Beyond" can bring a word of peace and joy to readers and listeners. Sometimes we need to hear a calm voice. Nighttime noises and daytime surprises can cause anytime tears and fears. We need a word of comfort. "Beyond Yet Still With You" is ideal in those moments. "Beyond Yet Still With You" brings the reader and groups words and pictures of joy, peace and comfort. Handling difficult concepts (like figuring out where God is, or wondering if God cares when I am hurt) is challenging. "Beyond" breaks it down into simple terms: God is Beyond, but He is still with us. He is beneath, over, through, in, and above us. We are under His care. Because He is everywhere, He is here and we can have peace. This 5-Pack gives you handouts for your students. "Beyond Yet Still With You" teaches us that God does sometimes seem distant from us. He is so far from us, so "beyond", as to seem inaccessible. God transcends creation. He is Lord of Heaven. But He is also Lord of the earth. Though He is distant, at the same time He is close at hand. He is a nearby powerful friend, an ever-present help in times of trouble. He is immanent. This 5-Pack allows you to give your students a one-page handout for each of eleven lessons. The book and these handouts combine peaceful poetry, original Scripture translations and vibrant illustrations into a single work that explores this "near but far paradox" of God's character. Readers and listeners, students and teachers, counselors and their clients, old and young - all will be reminded that God delights in His people. He protects us with His power. He comforts us with His presence. He watches out for us when we are out on a limb, walking through puddles and going to bed. We can be encouraged by the teachings of this book to understand we are safe because God is transcendent yet involved, distant yet immanent. He is over all, yet He is personally involved. He is "Beyond, Yet Still With You". The book is available in several languages (English, Haitian Creole and Japanese, with versions in French, Spanish, and other languages in the works) and multiple formats (illustrated poem book, coloring book, 13-lesson extended version "Teacher's Kit", and student handouts). The project also includes audio CD and a video DVD as well as a "coloring book" app for your mobile device. It is perfect for counseling settings, VBS, Home School and Sunday School. This Black and White version contains five sets of hand outs for each of the eleven lessons.
About the Author: In the Bible, God says through His prophet Isaiah, "My people will live in secure homes, in peaceful dwelling places, in quiet places of rest. Though hail flattens the forest and the city is leveled completely, how blessed you will be." Steve and Karen Jameson treasure that verse. As pastor of an urban core church, and as headmistress of a Christian day school, they both saw how important it was for the children of God to learn of, and to trust in, God's grace and comforting presence. Steve also saw that when he was an Infantry Captain in the U. S. Army and when he was working in a difficult corporate setting. Karen saw it when she was teaching at an affluent suburban school and in a rural high school. Both of them see the constant need for God's grace in their daily lives. Steve is an honor graduate of the ROTC program at the University of Arkansas, and was graduated with honors from both the University of Missouri Graduate School of Journalism and Covenant Theological Seminary. Karen is a graduate of Missouri State University with a lifetime teaching certificate valid in several states. Now based in Saint Louis, Missouri, they were missionaries in Nigeria with their 2 daughters, now grown. Their work has taken them to Haiti, the Caribbean, India, Africa and Asia. Steve likes Bob Dylan, and KAren pretends she does not. Erin Brown spent her childhood in Nigeria; she is a wife, step parent, and artist. After working as a business consultant in several countries, she now lives in Saint Louis, Missouri with her husband, her stepson, and her Havanese dogs.
