Por voluntariosa, rebelde e incontrolable su madre la envía con su padre que vive en las afueras de un pequeño pueblo cafetalero llamado Berlín. Es sometida a la estricta educación de su padre, se enfrenta al mundo sencillo del campesino, a los problemas del conflicto armado y se enamora de un hombre que hace doblegar la rebeldía de su corazón.
About the Author: MAIRA LETICIA RIVERA PINTO. Escritora y pintora. Nació en San Salvador, El Salvador el 31 de enero de 1963. Se graduó de Bachiller Mayor de la Universidad Dr. José Matías Delgado y comenzó a estudiar Administración de Empresas. Trabajó para compañías privadas durante muchos años desde Secretaria hasta Jefe Editorial de la Universidad. Se casó en el año de 1986 y se trasladan a vivir en el Puerto de Acajutla, Sonsonate, hasta 1995. Durante esos años encontró inspiración para escribir su primera novela de ficción-historia, donde narra las aventuras de una inquieta adolescente en el escenario crudo de una guerra civil. Estudió fotografía por su cuenta y se independizó al colocar su propio estudio fotográfico en 1996 llamado "Foto Jolis". Incansable autodidacta, adquirió conocimientos sobre diseño gráfico, y en el año 2004 fundó una empresa de impresiones digitales. En el año 2008 se muda con su familia para Miami, Fl. Donde presentó su primera novela de ficción titulada: "Berlín, Amor y Odio" en la ciudades de Miami, Fl., Houston, Tx. y Washington D. C. Continuando con el llamado a expresarse, no solo en papel sino en lienzo, estudia dibujo y pintura en Artatelier Academy en Miami por 3 años. El romance siempre ha sido una de sus inspiraciones, y durante esos años, lanza su segunda novela romántica-aventura titulada: "Tiempo de Amar, Tiempo de Correr". En el año 2013 se muda para Tampa, Fl. y se hace miembro de una organización sin fines de lucro llamada Coalition of Hispanic Artists. En este año lanza otra novela titulada "La Herencia, El Muchacho y Su Destino". En el 2014, lanza otra novela titulada: "Vagabundito" basada en una historia real de un niño de la calle. En el año 2015 inicia un proceso de recolección de artistas de la diáspora salvadoreña y lleva a cabo un evento titulado "Encuentro de Colores y Letras" en El Salvador, el cual reunió 7 pintores, 1 escultor y 3 escritoras incluyéndose en este grupo, para lanzar su quinta novela de ficción - historia llamada "Los Secretos de una Historia". Actualmente da clases de pintura como voluntaria, en un centro para adultos mayores en el área de Tampa. Escribe artículos para el periódico "El Puente". Ella se describe a sí misma como una persona soñadora y romántica, amante de la naturaleza, de mente expansiva y siempre en busca de conocimiento e inspiración. Describe su obra como un alegre tributo a la naturaleza, donde integra figuritas humanas bajo el contexto del romance y la alegría.
