Diese Arbeit wurde ermöglicht durch ein vom Herrn Minister für Wissenschaft und Forschung des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen gefördertes Forschungsvorhaben "Diabatische Strahlungsheizung der Atmosphäre", Gesch.-Zeichen 11 B 6 FA. Der aus diesem Vorhaben in 1973/74 finanzierte Autor hat die zugrunde- liegenden Untersuchungen in Absprache mit dem unterzeichneten Zuwendungsempfänger, jedoch völlig selbständig durchgeführt. Die Veröffentlichung der vollständigen Theorie des Strahlungs- modells erfolgt gleichzeitig an anderer Stelle (Banner Meteoro- logische Abhandlungen). In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird die Theorie in gekürzter Fassung zusammengestellt; Variationen der Klimaparameter werden nicht berücksichtigt. Das Schwer- gewicht liegt auf der Wiedergabe aller Terme des Strahlungs- o haushalts im Meridionalschnitt der Nordhalbkugel (lOoS-90 N) für Winter und Sommer. gez. Prof. Dr. Michael Hantel Zusammenfassung Das Ziel dieses Forschungsprojekts ist die Aufstellung eines Rechenverfahrens zur Bestimmung eines Vertikalprofils der Strahlungsbilanz und damit der Erwärmungsrate der At- mosphäre. Hierzu wurden zunächst sämtliche Glieder der Strahlungsbilanzgleichung getrennt in 21 Druckhöhen berechnet. Die Streu- und Absorptionsprozesse beim Durchgang der Strah- lung durch die Atmosphäre wurden rechnerisch nachvollzogen, wobei die hierfür verantwortlichen Parameter explizit in den Gleichungen erhalten bleiben. Damit bleibt die Möglichkeit der Variation dieser Parameter gegeben und die Wirkung einer solchen Variation auf den Gesamt-Strahlungshaushalt kann un- tersucht werden. Die Anwendung dieser Bilanzrechnung für Sommer und Winter 0 0 zwischen 10 S und 90 N mit 5 Grad Breitenabstand liefert unter Verwendung zonal gemittelter Ausgangsdaten Meridional- Vertikalschnitte der Strahlungsströme und Erwärmungsraten in den beiden Jahreszeiten. Alle numerischen Rechnungen wurden auf der Anlage IBM 370/165 der GMD in Bonn durchgeführt.
