Mentre le classifiche delle vendite di libri in formato ebook sono sommerse dal fantasy e dal romanzo rosa, questo libro è come una doccia gelata: duro, crudo, estremo negli argomenti trattati, ma anche tenero e poetico, lo stile secco e fluido di Olmeda ci porta ad affrontare alcuni temi dimenticati. La semplice (e ormai oggi banale) storia di un padre svegliato nel cuore della notte dall'arrivo del figlio drogato e in fin di vita porrà il padre stesso di fronte alla necessità immane di convincerlo (e convincersi) che la vita vale la pena di essere vissuta. Libro al di fuori delle mode e delle tendenze, Olmeda ha avuto coraggio nell'atto di scriverlo, così come il lettore dovrà avere il coraggio di leggerlo. Un libro che non potrà lasciare indifferenti. About the Author: PIERO OLMEDA ha prodotto molti spettacoli di poesia, tra cui la performance Odio la Poesia durante la quale distrusse in diretta un numero imprecisato di televisori a tubo catodico, Deus ex Machina dove le azioni di due attori sul palco venivano pilotate via radio da un programma per computer, Leopardi Express nel quale impersonava il poeta Giacomo Leopardi che resuscitava per accorgersi poi del manifesto dello sbarco sulla luna, Faust un insieme di monologhi di poeti storici alla fine del quale scendeva attraverso una botola sul palco tra le fiamme, Black Hole con sette ballerine che danzavano nel buio in un labirinto di fili luminosi. Ha realizzato presso il Centro di Sonologia Computazionale dell'Università di Padova i poemi Zero e L'allegro Faust recitati dalla voce sintetizzata del computer (con la collaborazione di Graziano Tisato), che sono stati diffusi in Italia e in numerosi altri paesi. È stato il fondatore della Computer Poetry italiana elaborando il programma per scrivere poesie Lispoet con il quale ha prodotto alcuni testi presentati nei più importanti festival di poesia e arte elettronica, tra cui il First International Symposium on Electronic Art (Olanda) e Milanopoesia. Ha coordinato varie rassegne di poesia e arte elettronica tra cui Scritture & Oltre e il Computer & Art Festival. È stato direttore della prima rivista italiana dedicata interamente alla Computer Art, Poetronike. Negli ultimi anni si è dedicato alla scrittura di racconti e romanzi tra cui il racconto breve Un Giorno Verde (già disponibile su Amazon), il presente La Bellezza e la Bestia e prossimamente il romanzo breve Fata Morgana e il romanzo L'Uomo che Sconfisse la Morte.
