About the Book

Witnessing a terrible riding accident involving her father, a young girl overcomes the transition from the life she once knew as a princess to a new life with her strict uncle. Feeling hopeless and alone, Lilly makes a disastrous decision that results in her exile from royalty. Wanting desperately to learn how to ride her dream horse, Lilly defies convention by seeking help from a young and gifted stable hand named Ben. With the coveted national race just weeks away, Lilly has little time to prepare for a race she'll have to sneak into just to compete. The race has a surprise ending, as Lilly realizes her most crucial lesson - the belief that regardless of the roadblocks in life, everyone has the potential to choose their own destiny.
About the Author: Autumn Brooke Hartt is a 16-year-old author. She owns her own horse and writes about over-coming family tragedies from her own personal experiences in life. This is the first in a planned series of children's books dealing with self-esteem and the magnificent power of believing that God has created everyone to have a unique and special gift in life. Born with dyslexia, Autumn struggled with reading and writing until it was diagnosed and treated during her early school years. By the time she was a sophomore in high school she was already reading at a collegian level. Autumn asserts "writing this book challenged me to take my love for creative writing to the next level. I wanted a way to encourage everyone to find their unique passion in life and push it to the max!" Autumn is also a talented singer. One of her biggest surprises came when she was cast as one of the orphans in the Broadway Musical "Annie". This was all the more astounding because she had no previous acting experience; much less, even tried out for a part before. Autumn is community minded and has already made numerous speaking engagements through her involvement in the Miss Teen Texas Pageant system. This not only affords her the opportunity to routinely speak at schools, churches, and civic events; but, it also provides her with one of the few venues left in our modern day world to become a princess and still legitimately wear a crown. Autumn's goals in life are to become a professional entertainer and public speaker. She would eventually like to play a part in a television series and be a recording artist. She also hopes to continue to write books, especially ones that reinforce her own motto: believe in yourself, overcome obstacles, and just do it!
