Rapsolkraftstoff stellt aus okologischer Sicht eine sinnvolle Erganzung zu Dieselkraftstoff dar. Aufgrund der unterschiedlichen Eigenschaften von Rapsolkraftstoff im Vergleich zu Dieselkraftstoff muss ein Dieselmotor vor allem hinsichtlich Einspritzsystem und Motorsteuergrossen an den Kraftstoff Rapsol angepasst werden. Fur einen ganzheitlichen Losungsansatz muss ein Dieselmotor sicher und unter Einhaltung aktueller Abgasvorschriften mit Rapsolkraftstoff betrieben werden konnen. Diese Arbeit tragt zur Losung dieser Aufgabe bei, indem zunachst die grundsatzlichen Anforderungen des Kraftstoffs Rapsol an ein Einspritzsystem erarbeitet werden. Dabei wurden die grundsatzlichen Zusammenhange zwischen den Kraftstoffeigenschaften von Rapsol und den Anforderungen an das Einspritzsystems beziehungsweise an die motorische Verbrennung untersucht. Daraus wurden notwendige Anderungsmassnahmen definiert, die die Optimierung der motorischen Verbrennung mit Rapsolkraftstoff ermoglichen. Der Schwerpunkt der Arbeit wurde auf die Verbesserung des Einspritzverhaltens von Rapsolkraftstoff gelegt. Dieses erfolgte fur verschiedene Einspritzdusen mit unterschiedlicher Dusengeometrie durch optische Untersuchungen zum Sprayverhalten und durch motorische Untersuchungen zu den Abgasemissionen und Bewertung von Ablagerungsbildung sowohl an den Einspritzdusen als auch den Brennraumwanden. Daruber hinaus wurde der Einfluss unterschiedlicher Eingangsgrossen wie Einspritzdruck, Einspritzbeginn und vor allem Abgasruckfuhrung auf die Verbrennung von Rapsolkraftstoff untersucht. Dadurch konnten geeignete Motorbetriebsparameter ermittelt werden, mit denen die saubere und effiziente Verbrennung von Rapsolkraftstoff ermoglicht wird. Die in der vorliegenden Arbeit durchgefuhrten Untersuchungen erweitern das grundlegende Verstandnis der gegenseitigen Abhangigkeiten eines hochviskosen Kraftstoffs wie beispielsweise Rapsol und der Geometrie der Spritzlocher von Einspritzdusen. Es konnte fur Rapsolkraftstoff eine geeignete Dusengeometrie erarbeitet und optimierte Betriebsparameter definiert werden. Zusammenfassend lasst sich feststellen, dass der Einsatz von Rapsolkraftstoff in modernen Verbrennungsmotoren mit moderaten Anpassungen des Brennverfahrens bei Einhaltung aktueller und zukunftiger Abgasgrenzwerte moglich ist. Zusammen mit seinem grossen Treibhausgasminderungspotenzial kann Rapsolkraftstoff einen wichtigen Beitrag zur Erreichung ehrgeiziger Klimaziele leisten.
