About the Book

Beginning French Language (A systematic guide for the Anglophone learner) is specially packaged for the beginner's easy learning of the French language. It is also ideal for schools and colleges. The book envelops important topics on grammar, reading (by listening to the audio), comprehension passages as well as exercises to help the debutant become a better speaker and writer of the French language, independent of a tutor. Consequently the learner is advised to faithfully follow the steps highlighted by way of: 1. Dialogues and vocabulary: This is a veritable tool in communication as the learner imbibes the choice of words as it pertains to several fields of study. 2. Tips on Grammar is aimed at helping the learner to get a full grip of the French language grammar. Herein, we have treated parts of speech, expressions as well as conjugation of verbs. 3. Structural exercises: This is to help him master all that he has learnt and to be able to put them into practice. 4. Dictée: The dictation passages help the student/learner in listening or in ear training. Getting used to the French sound is very necessary if the student wants to make progress in his or her learning. 5. Corrigé The learner is advised to score himself after each exercise by going to the CORRIGÉ (Corrections) section of the book. 6. Cahier d'exercice: The workbook is after the main text book and it further facilitates mastery and practice of the language. You can get a copy of the corrections by writing to the author. Generally, Beginning French Language has been simplified to make for easy comprehension on the part of the debutant and to guarantee a holistic approach which is needed to instill confidence in the heart of the French student or learner.
