Einleitung Der aktuelle Politikunterricht zielt auf soziales und politisches Lernen ab. Es gehört zum Prozess der Sozialisation und "[...] der Einführung von Kindern in die kulturellen Selbstverständlichkeiten einer Gesellschaft [...]" Werthaltungen, Einstellungen und Überzeugungen zu betrachten, die für eine politische Sozialisation nötig sind. Die Grundintension ist, dass ein Verständnis von Demokratie entsteht und die Lernenden zu mündigen Bürgern erzogen werden. Es ist entscheidend, dass im Unterricht demokratische Grundlagen geschaffen werden, die die Schüler und Schülerinnen in ihrem gesellschaftlichen Alltag gebrauchen können. Lernende bringen eine Reihe von Konzepten und Vorstellungen mit in den Unterricht. Die Berücksichtigung der Lebens- und Verständniswelten der Schüler und Schülerinnen können in den Politikunterricht integriert werden und sollen dabei helfen, das Verständnis von Politik und Demokratie zu fördern. Hauptziel dieser Hausarbeit ist, zu analysieren, wie Schülervorstellungen erfasst werden können und welche Rolle sie für den langfristigen Lernerfolg spielen. Zunächst werden allgemeine Ziele des Politikunterrichts und politikdidaktische Konzeptionen erläutert, um die Aufgaben und das Verständnis vom politischen Lernen zusammenzufassen. Danach wird es einen Überblick über die Inhalte von Basiskonzepten und Fachkonzepten geben, um danach auf das Fachkonzept Demokratie einzugehen, das im späteren Verlauf der Arbeit auf das Anwendungsbeispiel zur Erfassung von Schülervorstellungen bezogen wird. Im Hauptteil dieser Arbeit wird es zunächst darum gehen, welche Bedeutung Schülervorstellungen (in Bezug auf das Fachkonzept Demokratie) für den Lernerfolg im Unterricht haben und welche Rolle sie für die Planung von Unterricht darstellen.
