About the Book
The Story you are about to read is true. It happened to me. It is about how I found a way to Transform the debilitating pain of Migraine Headaches, 40 years ago, through Meditation, changing it into a sparkling Blue Diamond, the Migraine Aura, and about the resulting Considerations, "How can this be?", and, " What does this mean?" This 176 page Full Color Paperback book is fully illustrated by 135 of my paintings. This book is written for those who suffer Migraine Headaches, as I did for so many years, in hopes that they will find the relief that I have found for the last 40 years. And also for those who do not suffer Migraines, that they may find some Meaning in this Recitation, that can be reflected in their daily lives. I invite you to slow down, for a while, and consider with me, as I Contemplate the Beauty and Meaning of Art, Migraines, and Meditation. This book contains a detailed description of "The Transformation of The Migraine", and my "Meditations and Visualizations". This is the basis of my Opal Series Paintings. Also included are "The Précis", a Series of Considerations on 50 various topics, such as "Light", "Empathy", "Physics", "The Realm of the Spiritual", "Time", "Perception", "Fear", "Pain", "Beauty", "Bio-chemistry", "The Value and Capacity of the Human Mind", and others. This book is Dedicated to "All who seek Happiness, and who Wonder." This book also contains 135 of my Paintings, 100 of my Architectural Projects, and Letters of Recommendation.
About the Author: Robert Bursik is an Architect and Painter. He studied Art and Architecture at Cornell University, and at Corcoran School of Art, in Washington, D.C. He has been an initiate at the Tibetan Temple in Washington, D.C. since 1985, and has studied Buddhism in China and Thailand. He has traveled 2 times around the world, working as an Architect on large-scale Projects. I started my Painting Collection, "Landscapes, Gardens, and Environments", in 1978. It contains 135 paintings, in 8 specific Series. The Mural Landscape Series has 6 paintings, including "The Cherry Blossom Festival", a 7' x 10' detailed mural of the Tidal Basin in Washington, D.C., taking 6,000 hours to paint over 12 years. Saint Thomas said, "Angels are Beings of Light, each as different, one to the other, as an elephant is to a flea". And I wondered, "How can this be?" Buddha said, "Within each man are endless forms.... And within each form are again endless forms." And I wondered, "What does this mean?" The Dali Lama told me, in 1987, that, "It's very simple. Calm the Mind, focus your Attention, and Watch the Emanations of the Mind". And I Wondered. And I tried it. I looked inside my Mind, and I found that it is True. This is the basis of my Opal Series Paintings. They are representations of my Dreams, and my Meditation Visualizations. I Consider that, "People are Designed to Experience Great Beauty, and achieve Great Serenity." I consider that, "Where you place your Attention, Multiplies", and that, "The Quality of Thought determines the Quality of Space." The experiences of my life I cannot deny. Therefore, I can only Wonder, "How can this be?", and, "What does this Mean?"
