About the Author: Ledell Walters is the pseudonym of a busy wife and mother who recently quit her day job as a national board certified mathematics teacher. Born into a poor but literary family in South Mississippi, she taught herself to read by borrowing (stealing?) her older brother's first grade reader and following her other siblings around asking them what the words meant. She has written several novels, but she became frustrated with regular print publishing and had almost given up on her dream of becoming an author. Since discovering independent publishing, she has begun dreaming again! Ledell still resides in South Mississippi with her husband and children. Her hobbies are reading (naturally), riding her recumbent bicycle, solving mathematical puzzles, baking, and teaching children at her church. Her novels are set near her home, with most of the action occurring in two fictional areas between the Gulf Coast and Hattiesburg: the town of Magnolia and a nearby rural community named Wisdom. Her novels may not be considered traditional Christian fiction, since she often has at least one main character who has been sexually assaulted and the abuse is dealt with frankly but not explicitly. There is, however, a strong theme of redemption and the foundation of self-worth that can be found in God's love and in Christian relationships. Ledell's characters also have Christian values and self-discipline that determine many of their actions, they pray while running to help, and they attend church on Sundays. Although the first four novels have a continuing story arc, each is a stand-alone that leaves no cliffhangers and briefly retells anything you need to know if you haven't read the previous stories. You can read TAKE MY HAND for Callie and Rick's story, and ACCOUNTABILITY to learn more about Jon and Ruth. Aunt Shelby will finally turn the tables on her stalker in the fourth novel, tentatively titled Watch and Pray, which will come out in Fall, 2014.
