About the Book
We did not see it coming. Why? It could be overconfidence, arrogance, or ignorance that led us to this point. However, this is not about the past or judgment of any sort. We are at the exact point in our human evolution we were meant to reach. The awakening came unexpectedly and at a speed that made humans standstill. The stillness was what we needed to re-evaluate our lives. Yes, there was fear, there was uncertainty and chaos, yet, in the future, this event will be referred to as the turning point or the great human awakening. The awakening from an old story that no longer serves us. A story that had us believe that we are separate from the others, that there is scarcity for which we must compete for survival, and that success is someone else having lesser, and us more. The technology was to free us, yet we are working way harder than before, and what we don't have is time to enjoy our hobbies, pursue our passions, and spend quality time with loved ones.Medicine was to cure us, but all we have is temporary relief. Money was to take us to the promised land, yet most people are in debt, and the rich are still unfulfilled. We cheered economic growth, yet consumerism paved the way for sweatshops where even basic human dignity is a far off dream for many. We sacrificed our passion and families to work for a better future, yet none were pleased. The next economic crisis is just around the corner, the hungry are yet to satisfy their next meal and the hardworking to rest their weary souls. We have science and technology that has made everything closer, faster, and smarter, yet we have never felt more alone, distant and bored. We managed to deplete the planet of all its natural resources, the air, water, forests, oceans, minerals, and naturally available foods to such an extent that we don't know if there is a future we are leaving behind for our children and grandchildren. We knew in our hearts, this had to change, but the task was seemingly impossible. Have humans finally conquered it all, yet, why does our victory feel so un-sweet. Some of us ignored the signs. Some of us remained ignorant, some were too busy, and some were indifferent. And those who could see the signs felt powerless, and those who did fight are still in battle. So is it hopeless to hope, to dream, to follow our heart's yearnings? It took a simple virus to break down our illusion of power over every living thing, every magnanimous tree that gave us shade, every free bird in the sky, every rock which has the signature of the very DNA and elements, we are all made off. It took a simple virus to bring us the miracle that would allow our real dreams and hopes to become seeds that could enable a new life. A simple virus put us on our knees that all the billions spent on our security, research, science, medicine, and technology had no answer. And that is a frightening reality we had to face. It all started with a story of me, and us, and our place on this planet. I believe it was a story that had to be told and was meant to be lived, no matter how bleak our current situation seems, as something new awaits us. In my dream, I saw my 5-year-old daughter who looked much older and more beautiful, enjoy a fresh breath of air, smell the fragrance of a flower, taste the nectar of the bees and look around at a fantastic world. I owed this to her. And I believe you want the same for your children. So what's the answer for us? Do I have a blueprint for the future? No, I don't know the future. What I do know is that we humans now know our capacity to hate, feel jealous, be indifferent, enable greed, empower anger, and live in feelings of scarcity, fear, insecurity, and unworthiness. However, we also learned of our higher capacity to do good, give unconditional love, be courageous, offer forgiveness, and live in creativity, joy, compassion, and abundance.
