La France plonge une nouvelle fois dans le chaos: pouvoir autoritaire et impopulaire, foule furieuse (qui fit preuve de servitude volontaire au moment des confinements et du reste), répression exemplaire, médias légèrement égarés mais plutôt tolérants pour ce même pouvoir: on ne mord pas la main qui vous nourrit. On est donc en pleine exception française alors que tout s'écroule, comme en 1830, 48, 51, 70-71, et comme un certain nombre de fois aussi au cours du vingtième siècle.
Il y a vingt-six ans déjà, je publiais cet ouvrage historique de réflexions sur cette exception, réflexions qui s'organisaient autour d'un fil rouge: rien ne bouge en France ou presque depuis 1815. Pays pyramidal (Hugo) soumis à une forte autorité verticale, la France patauge dans le mécontentement, le déclin (si l'on considère qu'elle était au dix-huitième encore le gros animal et la Lumière du monde). L'Etat se mêle de tout et s'occupe de tout sur fond pourtant de privatisations et de libéralisme, et le plus obéissant Ran-Tan-Plan (le chien de Lucky Luke, célèbre pourtant pour sa stupidité) sent confusément quelque chose. La crise féroce et grotesque du vaccin a permis à l'Etat de retrouver ses prérogatives totalitaires classiques; prérogatives qui ne France ne disparaissent jamais.
On trouvera dans ce livre, qui fut reconnu et célébré par une partie de la presse, du grain à moudre pour la liberté. Comme on sait cette liberté est bien bradée en France comme maintenant l'égalité et bien sûr la fraternité. Jamais la devise républicaine n'est parue plus dépassée.
Le livre de ce point de vue n'a pas vieilli. On peut le trouver (moi-même je le trouve) un peu trop libéral (on dit libertarien aujourd'hui), un peu trop proaméricain (mais Bill Clinton n'est pas Bush ou Biden), un peu trop acre à l'encontre du passé chrétien et royal du pays, passé dont il ne restait pas grand-chose déjà, et dont il ne reste rien aujourd'hui, même plus le souvenir chez des élus vendus au mondialisme de Davos et Bruxelles.
Par contre on verra en quoi il ne se trompait pas (et en quoi donc il peut éclairer le présent - et soyons fanfaron ou humoriste - même l'avenir): il déquille l'exception culturelle, le culte migratoire, l'intervention étatique, le narcissisme intellectuel d'une nation qui comme dirait la sagesse chinoise parle trop, jubile trop et n'agit pas - sinon pour achever de brader tel bijou de famille, ouvrir un peu plus les frontières (toujours au nom de cet universalisme si français) ou accélérer le passage local à la tyrannie numérique - qui sera grandement renforcé à l'occasion de ces jeux olympiques de 2024 qui s'annoncent épouvantables ou même impossibles. On verra enfin que loin d'être victime de l'Europe, la France lui a refilé ses défauts - autoritarisme et technocratie.
Ce qui a changé depuis ? L'explosion du nombre de retraités, privilégiés du régime et du banquier mondialiste. On voit le résultat.
