Masterarbeit aus dem Jahr 2013 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Neuere Deutsche Literatur, Note: 1,7, Universität Augsburg (Philologisch-Historische Fakultät), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Jenny Alonis Roman 'Zypressen zerbrechen nicht' wurde bisher in der Forschungsliteratur als extrem autobiographische Erzählung bezeichnet. Diese Arbeit fokussiert sowohl Faktualitätsmarker als auch fiktionale Bestandteile. Das Ergebnis ist ein klares überwiegen der Fiktionalität und entspricht damit einer völlig neuen Sichtweise auf das Werk der Autorin. Bei der Herausarbeitung der Überschneidungen zwischen Leben und Schaffen der Autorin wurden ihre Tagebucheinträge aus der Zeit von 1939-1943 untersucht und mit bisher unveröffentlichtem Material gearbeitet. Die Arbeit beginnt damit, Autobiographiekonzepte aus der Zeit des alten Ägyptens bis in die 1970er Jahre auf die Konstitution von Identität hin zu untersuchen. Die Identiätskonzepte werden dann mit der Charakterisierung der Hauptfigur im autobiographischen Roman verglichen. Der nächste Abschnitt beschäftigt sich mit besonderen Elementen der jüdischen Autobiographiegeschichte. Natürlich darf ein Überblick über bahnbrechende Konzepte der Autobiographieforschung nicht fehlen. Anschließend widmet sich die Autorin ausführlich der Interpretation des Romans. In intensiver Archivarbeit wurde ein Originalmanuskript von 'Zypressen zerbrechen nicht' mit dem Text der Werkausgabe verglichen. Unterschiede wurden nahezu vollständig herausgearbeitet. Ebenso gründlich wurden die Übereinstimmungen von Ereignissen, die im Tagebuch geschildert werden, mit Szenen aus dem Roman aufgedeckt. Abschließende konnte bewiesen werden, dass es sich bei dem Roman um ein stark fiktionales Konstrukt handelt, dessen künstlerischer Wert weit über eine bloße Zusammenstellung von Tagebucheinträgen hinausgeht.
