Inhaltsangabe: Gang der Untersuchung: Im ersten Kapitel, dem theoretischen Teil, werden verschiedene Aspekte der autistischen Störung, sowie ihrer therapeutischen Behandlung dargelegt. Zuerst wird der historische Verlauf der "Entdeckung" des Störugsbildes kurz skizziert, um daraufhin auf die unterschiedlichen Verursachungstheorien näher einzugehen. Anschließend wird der Autismus aus zwei Blickwinkeln beschrieben und erläutert. Die "Außensicht" der professionellen Welt (oder eines großen Teils von ihr) drückt sich in den offiziellen klinisch-diagnostischen Kriterien aus. Diese wird hier durch die "Innensicht" autistischer Menschen anhand schriftlicher Äußerungen über ihre Störung ergänzt, um ein besseres Verständnis für diese Betroffenen zu gewährleisten. Schließlich werden verschiedenartige therapeutische Ansätze kategorisiert und präzisiert. Im zweiten Kapitel, dem methodischen Teil, wird die Forschungskonzeption dieser Arbeit behandelt. Dort wird zunächst die gewählte Methodik erläutert, woraufhin der Forschungsprozeß durch eine ausführliche Beschreibung des konkreten Handlungsablaufes in der Erhebungs- und Auswertungsphase transparent gemacht werden soll. Das Datenmaterial wurde durch das Führen problemzentrierter Interviews gewonnen und im wesentlichen mit Hilfe der Grounded Theory von Glaser und Strauss ausgewertet. Im dritten Kapitel werden die Ergebnisse der Deutungsarbeit vorgestellt und weiterführend diskutiert. Sie beschreiben drei verschiedene therapeutische Grundhaltungen, die stichwortartig folgendermaßen charakterisiert werden können: - Schulenabhängigkeit im Sinne einer ausschließlichen Befürwortung der Lerntheorie und Verhaltenstherapie. - Bewußte persönliche Integration verschiedener (psychologischer) Theorien zu einer individuellen Handlungsstrategie. - Spontanes, situativ variables therapeutisches Handeln unter wenig reflektiertem Einbezug unterschiedlicher (psychologischer) Theorien.
