Inhaltsangabe: Einleitung: Motivation bildet eine entscheidende Grundlage für das Lernen. Ohne Motivation würden wir nicht lernen. Der Mensch besitzt den intrinsischen Wunsch, seine Umwelt zu erforschen und zu verstehen. Er hat die natürliche Anlage, lernen und sich weiterentwickeln zu wollen. Die Motivation zur aktiven Auseinandersetzung mit der Umwelt ist bereits im frühen Stadium der Entwicklung gegeben und braucht keine Anleitungen oder äußere Zwänge. Sie bildet die wesentliche Grundlage für den Erwerb kognitiver Fähigkeiten. Besonders sichtbar wird es bei den jungen Grundschülern, die mit einer immensen Begeisterung und Faszination in die Schule kommen, um Lesen, Schreiben und Rechnen erlernen zu wollen. Das Lernen vollzieht sich von nun an in einer institutionalisierten Form und die Schule wird zum Ort des Lernens. Aus einem begeisterten und motivierten „Lernen-Wollen" in den Anfangsjahren der Schulzeit wird in der Folge nicht selten ein wenig begeistertes und unmotiviertes „Lernen-Müssen". In meiner Arbeit möchte ich einen zentralen Punkt hervorheben, der wesentlichen Einfluss auf die Motivation und somit auch auf das Lernen hat. Leistungsbeurteilung, die sich in den meisten deutschen Schulen in Form einer Zensurengebung vollzieht, spielt meiner Meinung nach eine große Rolle in diesem Prozess. Das Lernen der Schüler wird in der Schule beurteilt und bewertet und mit einer Note dokumentiert. Die zentrale Frage meiner Arbeit ist, welchen Einfluss diese Bewertung auf die Motivation und somit auf das Lernverhalten nimmt? Inwiefern greifen die Noten in den Lernprozess des Schülers ein? Inwieweit hemmen sie die Motivation und die effektive Lernleistung? Darf man die Zensurengebung absolut verurteilen oder kann sie sogar lernfördernd sein? Meine persönlichen Erfahrungen mit der Zensurengebung führten im Laufe meiner Schulkarriere zu einer immer stärker werdenden Aversion gegen dieses System.
