Auf Basis der Empfehlungen der sogenannten "Terhart-Kommission" und im Zuge der verschiedenen Reformkonzepte der frühen Nullerjahre wurden bundesweit Zentren für Lehrerbildung und Schools of Education gegründet, die sich über die Jahre hinweg fest in der universitären Struktur etabliert haben. Bezüglich der genauen Umsetzung der Gründung solcher Institutionen "[...] schlägt die Kommission kein einheitliches, verbindliches Modell vor" (Terhart, 2000, S. 109). Die logische Konsequenz dessen in Kombination mit der heterogenen und föderalen Bildungslandschaft in der Bundesrepublik war, dass bereits einen Wimpernschlag nach der Veröffentlichung der Empfehlung die Zentren "[...] mit allen nur denkbaren Aufgabenzuschreibungen" (Blömeke, 2000, S. 251) versehen wurden. Das Erhebungsziel der vorliegenden Masterarbeit ist es, die "Ausgestaltung der Zentren für Lehrerbildung" 19 Jahre nach dem Anstoß zur Gründung für NRW mittels der evaluativen qualitativen Inhaltsanalyse nach Kuckartz herauszuarbeiten. Dies geschieht durch die Entwicklung eines eigenen Analyseinstruments mit folgenden deduktiv hergeleiteten Kategorien: Studierendenservice, Forschungsintensität, Qualitätsmanagement, horizontale Verzahnung, vertikale Verzahnung, Inklusion und Digitalisierung. In Sinne der evaluativen qualitativen Inhaltsanalyse sind diese sieben Kategorien zusätzlich in vier ordinale Ausprägungsstufen unterteilt. Vorrangig sind Dokumente öffentlichkeitswirksamer Kommunikation sowie Statistiken im Erhebungszeitraum untersucht worden. Die Gesamtschau der Erhebungsergebnisse dieser Arbeit betrachtend lässt sich mit Blick auf die Ausgestaltung der Zentren in NRW zusammenfassen (Stand 2019), dass sie an der Oberfläche mit annähernd denselben Aufgabenbereichen dasselbe Ziel - die kontinuierliche Verbesserung der Lehramtsausbildung - verfolgen.
