In anderen Branchen, z. B. Immobilien, Versicherungen/Makler-Portale sind b2b-Plattformen hingegen bereits fest etabliert. Existierende Portale wie z. B. www.mobile.de, www.autoscout24.de, www.motorrad.de oder www.motoboerse.de sind auf den b2c-Handel ausgerichtet und bieten Händlern in speziellen Login-Bereichen erweiterte Verkaufs- aber keine Handelsfunktionalitäten. Der Markt ist jedoch attraktiv. Jährlich werden in Deutschland ca. 160.000 neue Motorräder verkauft. Der Bestand an zugelassenen Motorrädern lag 2007 bei ca. 3.5 Mio. Die Zahl der Neuzulassungen im Bereich Krafträder hat in den letzten Jahren zugenommen. Insbesondere vor dem Hintergrund aktuell steigender Benzinpreise (vom Freizeitgerät mehr zum Alltagsgebrauch) ist in den kommenden Jahren von einem leichten Wachstum auszugehen, da prognostiziert wird, dass immer mehr Pendler vom Auto auf das Motorrad umsteigen werden. Ziel der Diplomarbeit ist es, das Konzept für eine internetbasierte b2b-Händlerplattform zu entwickeln und mit einer Vermarktungsstrategie zu hinterlegen. Der Fokus liegt dabei ausschließlich auf dem Motorradhandel. Die Diplomarbeit soll eine theoretische Grundlage zur Etablierung einer b2b- Plattform als erste Wahl für den Informationsaustausch und Handel von gebrauchten Motorrädern aus Händlersicht schaffen. Dabei stehen vor allem die Professionalität und der spezifische Bedarf der Zielgruppe im Vordergrund. Nur durch das Generieren eines zusätzlichen Nutzens können Händler von der Plattform überzeugt und eine Durchdringung und erfolgreiche Vermarktung des neuen Konzepts kann erzielt werden.
