Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2005 im Fachbereich Kulturwissenschaften - Empirische Kulturwissenschaften, Note: 1,3, Universität Lüneburg (Kulturwissenschaften), Veranstaltung: Seminar: Urbane Aspekte der Kulturvermittlung, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Bereits Ende der 1980er Jahre bemängelten Hartmut Häußermann und Walter Siebel in einem Aufsatz mit dem Titel "Kulturpolitik oder Das Ende der Stadtkultur" die starren politischen Strukturen innerhalb Deutschlands bezüglich städtischer Kultur. Entwicklungen wie Bevölkerungsrückgang und Deindustrialisierung würden von der Politik ausschließlich als negativ bewertet werden. Ein verändertes städtisches Leitbild sei nicht in Sicht. Die Autoren sind der Meinung, dass kommunale Politiker fast ausschließlich Wert auf zusätzliche Arbeitsplätze in Industrie und Technik legen würden. Dabei würde die Wichtigkeit einer funktionierenden Stadtkultur meist außer Acht gelassen. Gerade aber diese ist laut Häußermann und Siebel auch zukünftig von besonderer Bedeutung, da sie ein hohes Maß an Lebensqualität gewährleiste. Ist dies nicht gegeben, würden letztendlich kreative und qualifizierte Arbeitskräfte aus "reinen Industriestädten" wegziehen und ihren Arbeitsplatz lieber in kulturell attraktiven Orten wie z.B. Wien suchen. Als Negativbeispiel von Kulturentwicklung nennen die Autoren die Stadt Frankfurt am Main. Zwar hat diese im Jahr 1986 nach Berlin die höchsten Ausgaben innerhalb Deutschlands für Kultur getätigt, doch wurde nach ihrer Meinung an den falschen Stellen ausgegeben: Hochkultur und postmoderne Achitektur, Luxusboutiquen und Musical- und Opernhäuser. Dies diene ausschließlich dazu, überregionale Besucher anzuziehen und die Bedürfnisse der "Upper Class" zu befriedigen. Das sozial schlechter gestellte Milieu Frankfurts könne sich diesen Luxus hingegen nicht leisten. Es wird statt dessen aus seinem sozialen Umfeld innerhalb Frankfurts in die Außenbezirke gedrängt, deren Lebensniveau durch den in die Innenstadt strömenden Ve
