About the Book

This book of poetry is not meant to start fires, but to observe them wherever and in whatever state they may be found from the fireside to the final days of Planet Earth. The Master of classical rhyme and meter poetry provides the perfect set of 100 poems to read by the fireside. The first set of ten is titled, "Bonfires of the Banalties," and incorporates both funny and serious takes on present interest items such a personification of his recliner chair. The second set of ten is "Fires of Love," perfect for Valentine's Day and in fact spells out Valentines. The third set is "Firefights of Freedom," including America losing its soul and charging windmills. The fourth and fifth sets are Halloween poems, but much deeper than that as hellfire demons are the subjects along with witches and skeletons. The sixth set is titled, "Flaming out in Space," and indeed incorporates some far out poetry. The seventh set is Christmas home fires burning and the eighth set is related concerning fireside allegories and stories. The ninth and tenth set concern the final days and Biblical imagery from the Book of Revelation and delve into the causes and results of fires burning in the end with the idea of sitting by and watching the world burn, while remaining calm and dispassionately observing destruction brought on by forces envisioned in the Bible.
