About the Book
My first novel;
'As the Sun Rose to Kiss the Moon Good Night'.
This book is a story of personal memoirs, from the few years of my early 20's, and I have chosen to write it in that spirit, doing my best to recall, how I felt and thought in my twenties! I do not attempt to make life, or people, look better or worse than they are. However, I have chosen to present my book wording, ...(which contains explicit adult interactions...) in a "clean and classy manner," in an attempt to show respect to my readers, and the wonderful people in my story. My life has been a roller-coaster ride of events, and times, ranging from 'not very interesting, ' to say the least, to fantastic, fairy-tale like. This is a story of arrival of the deepest love, and most tragic loss; of getting back on my feet again, .... and again; struggling on. My daughter, who passed in 2017, to whom this novel is dedicated, is and will forever be the sun that rose to kiss the moon good night, in my life; she was a true bringer of love and light in the lives of many! If you have not read this novel, I ask you humbly to do so, because my second novel is in the works; a follow-up, continuance. Diano Marina; Italy, the beginning of May, 1980.
I was sitting outdoors, at a table under one of the blue parasols, thoroughly enjoying a delicious Lasagna, made by my new Italian friend, Luigi, who was the owner of this small, but classy restaurant, in a peaceful side street in Diano Marina, in Italy, not imagining that in 5 seconds, my life would change forever! He walked up behind me, and bending down at my left side, which took a while because he was very tall, he said, "Scusa bella donna, questo è per caso il tuo tovagliolo?" I held my breath as a 'Greek God', an Italian Greek God, that is, picked up the napkin, which indeed was mine, and handed it to me...He was "the one," owning my heart, before I knew his name!
I knew she was there, before I saw her: I felt the magnetism in the air, drawing me in her direction. The moment I did see her, I knew that this was the woman I had waited for; la Dea del mio cuore/Goddess of my heart! She was tiny, dainty, and elegant in a natural way, with long black, completely straight, and very shiny hair, that reached her waist, and had pale grey eyes, that looked like velvet!
Laura struggled through a loveless, twisted, violent childhood. She married, and had her first child at the age of 19; The marriage, a copy of her childhood, being abused, manipulated and controlled in every way. When offered a sum of money in her divorce settlement, she has no idea that she is being ripped off! Having rented an apartment and furnished it, Laura spends her last settlement money, on a coach trip to Italy, for the purpose of distancing and recreation, however... God has his own agenda with Laura!
My second novel; 'Izobel' will, with my best intentions (health allowing), be out before the end of 2022, and is the story of another woman, my mother-in-law from my first book, and how she and I crossed paths. She was an amazing friend to me also, and her story deserves to be told!
