About the Book

Watch as we see a dominant cartel, a huge player, a force so big and so strong, they never thought it could happen, struggle and fade. And then watch, as various new concepts rise to compete for the big prize it leaves in its wake! Strap yourselves in tight! For it's gonna be a bumpy ride! And this is going to be one exciting and thrilling read, full of twists, turns and creative new solutions!
The sport we know and love has hit a most terrible obstacle and it is starting to struggle. The 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons of Major League Baseball action were amazingly exciting. All analysts deemed the season a big success. There was more money in the game than ever before, more viewership and bigger revenue streams than ever before, both from the corporate sponsors, through the sale of seats and from the TV broadcasting rights.
Also the world series showdown and the international contests were a big hit. Everyone was happy. Everyone thought "life cannot get any better than this!"But then things started to change. The new season 2025-26 came with some big changes and with new plans: A new business plan, a new deal for the players, a new computer system and a new chief commissioner of the major league, now that the long-serving Ted Baker has clocked out and settled into retirement.
This new set-up went live with not much commotion. The players union studied the new deal carefully and agreed it, as did the stadium owners and the sponsors. And so the new season started right on time, just like the previous two seasons had done, with all the MLB stadiums on average 91.7% sold out in terms of seats, while the TV broadcasters continued to clock some fantastic ratings for all sorts of games, involving each of the MLB teams.
There wasn't much cause for concern, not at first. But there was one thing that was going wrong, and this was going to cause a lot of trouble: In spite of everything being run as normal and on time, nobody was getting paid at the other end of it. None of the players, none of the franchises and none of the stadiums. Not one penny was getting to where it should get to. Maybe there was some kind of glitch that could be ironed out?
The MLB hotlines heated up, with people who had noticed a distinct lack of money going into their bank account trying find out what was going on. What was going on? Was it sabotage? Technical glitches? Software errors? Corruption? Or hackers? As the days went by, the news got bigger and bigger, hitting not just the front of the sports section, but also the front page of the big newspapers too. The money was not getting through. It was being sent off but not arriving at the other end. Who has stolen baseball? This was the ever-growing headline issue.Naturally, the new computer system was blamed, along with the new commissioner. Feeling the heat, and the growing fury, the new chief commissioner, Vince Gordon, hastily announced that he was dropping the new computer system and going back to the old one, the tried and tested way of getting everyone their money. The press hailed him as the man who broke and fixed the nation's most popular game. His picture was all over the news. People were relieved to know that everything was going to be okay, and so life could get back to normal. Players' families were going to be able to pay their kids schools, their family grocery shopping and their household bills again, thank god! Soon all will be over and forgotten and out. Well, that's what everyone, including the leaders, players and teams expected to happen. But it didn't. Another week went by with no money getting through to anyone, and then another week. Now tempers were really boiling over. "What the heck are those incompetent putzes up to? Can't they do anything right?" There were so many people now banging with fury on the doors of the commissioner and his finance director that both of them decided to relocate their beleaguered and now heavily targeted bodies to a new secret location...
