Cuando pensamos acerca de las problemáticas educativas que nos convocan y ocupan, el "pasaje" de la Educación Inicial a la Educación Primaria surge como un espacio de conflictos y deseos, de demandas y quejas, de búsquedas y encuentros, que pone en evidencia la necesidad de abordarlo con compromiso y dedicación. Se trata de modificar las concepciones acerca de las relaciones entre ambos niveles, a partir de un conocimiento más claro sobre las potencialidades de cada uno, aprendiendo acerca de las fortalezas y las posibilidades de articular sosteniendo un mismo proyecto y aceptando las diferencias en la impronta que caracteriza a cada nivel, sus directivos, educadores y por sobre todo sus alumnos. Desde esta mirada sostenemos que es posible establecer puentes para que la trayectoria de los alumnos (que necesariamente abarca ambos niveles) sea fluida y dé cuenta de las continuidades y modificaciones pertinentes, alejándose de las rupturas innecesarias.

La propuesta de este libro se asienta (a través de cada capítulo) en la articulación entre ambos niveles y entre determinadas áreas de enseñanza. Por otra parte, destaca el lugar del juego en el contexto escolar para volver a pensar acerca de las propuestas en ambos niveles y especialmente en sus posibilidades de otorgar continuidad a los procesos educativos.
