Et en ce sens, les contributions de Lara Docquier et de Louis Lemonon ouvrent et explorent de nouvelles voies en matière de sociologie visuelle.Dans un contexte où l'image est de plus en plus présente, où tous peuvent, munis d'un téléphone intelligent, produire des images, où les médias sociaux utilisent abondamment l'image, la sociologie est de plus en plus encline à mobiliser également des images, soit comme objet d'étude, soit comme outil de recherche, soit comme médium de communication et d'échanges scientifiques autour de résultats. Des chiffres et des lettres, mais aussi des images, fixes ou animées, voilà les matériaux avec lesquels les sociologues rendent compte, aussi, du monde social.Ce qu'il y a d'intéressant et de pertinent dans la démarche de Lara Docquier, c'est qu'elle arrive non pas seulement à montrer, mais surtout à démontrer que le musée est un territoire visuel pensé et travaillé, au sein duquel des parcours visuels sont proposés par les organisateurs de l'exposition, où le chemin des visiteurs y est plus ou moins déterminé dans le but d'infléchir le sens de leur visite. D'autre part, Louis Lemonon nous amène sur une tout autre piste, celle des dessins de Franz Kafka. Même si, de prime abord, il serait difficile de penser que la notion de repère visuel puisse s'appliquer aux dessins de Kafka, force est de constater que Lemonon arrive à dégager de nouvelles pistes d'analyse encore toutes fraîches, d'où l'idée de les présenter au lecteur. Par exemple, la figurine de gauche, qui fait partie du corpus des six figurines noires, est une représentation de Kafka lui-même, rongé par l'ennui et le poids des cadres structurels. L'image ici captée semble projeter le spectateur dans une per-ception visuelle des émotions de Kafka.
