Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2022 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Gattungen, Note: 1,3, Universität Hildesheim (Stiftung), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Inwiefern sind Aussagen des harten Gegensatzes von aristotelischem und epischem Theater sowie Brechts solitärer Autorschaft dieser Theaterform legitim? Dieser Frage widmet sich die folgende Arbeit. Dabei wird einleitend das aristotelische Theater eingehend betrachtet, um auf dieser Folie anschließend in einer genauen Definition des epischen Theaters Differenzpunkte, aber möglicherweise auch Gemeinsamkeiten auszuarbeiten. Weiterhin soll dieser Vergleich exemplarisch an Brechts Stück "Der gute Mensch von Sezuan" erläutert werden, das, wie sich zeigen wird, für dieses Vorgehen in vielerlei Hinsicht eine ideale Grundlage darstellt. In einem abschließenden Fazit werden die Ergebnisse dieser Arbeit dann noch einmal zusammenfassend ausgewertet. Sei es im Bewusstsein der Theaterbesucher*innen des 20. Jahrhunderts oder dem der Schüler*innen der vergangenen Jahrzehnte, das epische Theater ist untrennbar mit dem Namen Bertolt Brecht verbunden. Dieser Status sorgt dann auch für eine massenhafte Rezeption von Brechts Theatermodell, das ebenfalls unter der Bezeichnung nicht-aristotelisches Theater bekannt ist. Der Name legt es schon nahe: In der Mehrheit der Texte von gängigen Lehrmaterialien und -plattformen bis hin in einige Fachveröffentlichungen wird Brechts Theater als direkter Gegensatz zum klassischen, von Aristoteles geprägten Theater verstanden. "Im Gegensatz zur klassischen Form [dem aristotelischen Theater] wurde 1926 von Bertolt Brecht das epische Theater entwickelt." In Zusammenfassungen dieser Art schwingt auch immer die Ansicht eines spontanen kreationistischen Aktes mit, Brecht hätte sich in einem radikalen Gesinnungswandel vom traditionellen Theater losgelöst und eine eigene Form geschaffen, um die gesamtgesellschaftlichen Tendenzen und Veränderungen auszudrücken, aber zugleich auch auf sie einzuwirken.
