Ökonomie, Note: 2,0, Georg-August-Universität Göttingen (Institut für Politikwissenschaft), Veranstaltung: Politik und Wirtschaft, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Zu Beginn der Arbeit werden im zweiten Kapitel die Begriffe Konvergenz, systematische Konvergenz, asymmetrische Konvergenz und divergente Konvergenz kurz definiert. In dem folgenden Kapitel wird die wirtschaftliche und politische Ausgangslage zu Beginn der 1980er Jahre für beide Länder separat betrachtet. Im Anschluss an die einführenden Abschnitte folgt im vierten Kapitel die Betrachtung der Arbeitsmarktpolitischen Veränderungen durch Reformen konservativer Regierungen von 1980 bis Mitte der 1990er Jahre. Dieser Zeitraum bietet sich für einen sinnvollen Vergleich zwischen Deutschland und Großbritannien an, da in beiden Ländern konservative Parteien regierten, welche fast zeitgleich abgewählt wurden. Dabei sollen insbesondere die Gewerkschaftspolitik, die Flexibilisierung des Arbeitsrechts sowie aktive und passive Arbeitsmarktpolitik betrachtet werden. Kapitel 5 umfasst den Zeitraum der sozialdemokratisch geführten Regierungen und die damit einhergehenden arbeitsmarktpolitischen Reformen. Hierbei soll der Frage nachgegangen werden, ob die neuen Regierungen einen veränderten Kurs einschlagen und welche Veränderungen bei der Flexibilisierung des Arbeitsrechts sowie der aktiven und passiven Arbeitsmarktpolitik auftreten. Im sechsten Kapitel werden die erarbeiteten Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede in der Entwicklung der Arbeitsmarktpolitik zusammengefasst und eine Bewertung ob eine Konvergenz der Arbeitsmarktsysteme in GB und D vorliegt, vorgenommen. Bei der Betrachtung der Entwicklung der Arbeitsmarktpolitik in Großbritannien und Deutschland lassen sich zahlreiche Parallelen feststellen. In den 80/90er Jahren wurden in beiden Ländern durch konservative Regierungen arbeitsmarktpolitische Veränderungen
