Einen der bedeutendsten Faktoren stellen dabei qualifizierte und engagierte Mitarbeiter dar. Denn die Mitarbeiter eines Unternehmens sind speziell im heutigen Technologiezeitalter im Gegensatz zu anderen Unternehmensressourcen aufgrund ihrer unmöglichen Imitation als wesentlicher Wettbewerbsvorteil zu sehen. Deshalb hat das Thema Arbeitgeberattraktivität in den vergangenen Jahren verstärkt an Bedeutung gewonnen. Gründe hierfür sind beispielsweise die Auswirkungen des demographischen Wandels und die daher mittelfristig zu erwartende Knappheit an hochqualifizierten Fachkräften. Vor diesem Hintergrund erfährt vor allem die Generation Y zunehmend Aufmerksamkeit in der Diskussion um Arbeitgeberattraktivität. Die wachsenden Herausforderungen der Akquisition, Bindung und Allokation von Talenten führen dazu, dass eine Vielzahl an Organisationen die Notwendigkeit erkennt, ihre Systeme und Instrumente des Personalmanagements weiterentwickeln zu müssen. Die entscheidenden Fragen, die Organisationen in Bezug auf Arbeitgeberattraktivität zu beantworten versuchen, sind: Warum soll sich ein Bewerber für unser Unternehmen entscheiden? und Warum soll er bleiben? Das Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, die wichtigsten Instrumente für die Personalabteilung vorzustellen, um die oben genannten Fragen zu beantworten.
