About the Book

An ordinary talented young man living single in New York finally succumbs to the mysterious dream which had recurred frequently since his perfect childhood in small-town America. No trauma.. no abuse... healthy.. good education.. handsome... a decent believer... good job... friends and reasonable financial success. His dreams are 'american dreams' but certainly not the kind you've immediately presumed.. As a little boy he was haunted by the numerics "03:27". Year in year out until he became a professional in the Big Apple.. The '03:27' was part of his life.. and of course, the mysterious calling of his recurring dream kept as a deep secret.. Eventually so powerful an urge, he takes the first flight out to the old world... first brief stop in Jerusalem.. for no specific reason... He has no notion of what he is searching for.. His curiosity and quest is about to catapult him to the dimensions unimaginable, and change his fate for ever.. and not necessarily for the worst... but a roller-coaster ride which would be terrifying for many.. Who is this strange man in the Bible? No... no.. not him!.. The one who always carries an earthen water jug... And of course..there is Kristen yet to be met!
About the Author: Not too far from a cove beach where Cleopatra enchanted Anthony, the Mediterranean shore city of Antalya boasts a little historic valley town called Elmali. Just yonder inland over the western arm of Taurus Mountains. This is a secluded corner of paradise where remnants of an ancient cedar forest hangs on for dear life at the edges of high cliffs overlooking Mr. Tekin Bora's birth place. Perhaps, Tekin's fascination with mysteries of history come from these fertile lands which prospered ancient civilizations accounted so vividly by the famed historian of 5th Century BC, Herodotus of Halicarnassus, only 250km from Elmali. Born in 1976, Tekin stormed like a mild Bora through his education and adventures abroad as a young man, and finally graduated from the Eskisehir Anatolian University. How befitting! Eskisehir, 'the old city', is a lamb's tail-shake away from Gordion where Alexander The Great is claimed to have cut the famous knot with a single strike of his blade, just before he visited the philosopher Diogenes of Sinope to the north who sharply scolded Alexander for daring to disrupt his leisure in the Black Sea late afternoon sun. Being a clever tekin on the rise, envious Alexander is reputed to have said, 'If I had not been Alexander, I would have preferred to be Diogenes!' To which Diogenes is said to have retorted: 'If I weren't myself, I too would have preferred to be Diogenes!' Now living in Istanbul - a continuous human settlement dating back nine thousand years - how could he possibly be expected to resist the urge of writing inspired by colorful and rich history surrounding him. Undoubtedly Tekin will encounter many more mysteries in the alleys of history criss-crossing Turkey. In search of wisdom, Tekin Bora looks forward to sharing with his readers the discoveries of what might have been, how could it have been and why it was!
