Gegen Kants Verfahren der transzendentalen Deduktion, das die Begrundung synthetischer Erkenntnisse a priori liefert, wurde wenige Jahre nach dem Erscheinen der zweiten Auflage der Kritik der reinen Vernunft von 1787 eine Reihe von Einwanden erhoben. Zwei Kritikansatze trafen dabei den Nerv der Sache und fuhrten umgehend zu Revisionen des kantischen Erkenntniskonzepts. Reinhold zog in Zweifel, dass Kant die als oberste Bedingung der Verstandesdeduktion eingefuhrte ursprunglich-synthetische Einheit der Apperzeption ausreichend zu fundieren und explizieren vermocht hatte, und war der Ansicht, diesen Mangel durch die Aufstellung eines obersten Prinzips des Bewusstseins beheben zu konnen. Bei Maimon fiel der Vorwurf, Kants nach dem Prinzip der Ermoglichung von Erfahrungssatzen gefuhrter Beweis synthetischer Urteile a priori sei in fataler Weise zirkular. Nur ausgehend von der Deutung der Kategorien als Verstandesideen und unter Einbezug der Ebene wirklicher Erfahrung lasse er sich in sinnvoller Weise vortragen. Diese Einwande und Revisionsvorschlage regten in der Folge G. E. Schulze, Beck und Fichte zu weiteren Verwerfungen und Neufassungen von Kants Verfahren der transzendentalen Deduktion an und pragten indirekt auch die Kant-Kritik Schellings und Hegels. Die vorliegende Arbeit widmet sich diesem problemgeschichtlich und systematisch entscheidenden Abschnitt der fruhen Kant-Rezeption. In einem ersten Schritt werden die kantischen Lehrstucke, gegen die sich die beiden Kritikansatze richten, ausfuhrlich dargestellt und problematisiert. In einem zweiten Schritt folgt die Konfrontation der kantischen Ansichten mit den betreffenden Einwanden und Revisionsvorschlagen bei Reinhold, Maimon, G. E. Schulze, Beck und Fichte. Gezeigt wird, dass im Kreise dieser Autoren trotz mancher Missverstandnisse uber Kants Zielsetzung und Vorgehensweise Einsichten ausgesprochen werden, denen man Rechnung tragen sollte. Bei Fichtes Fundierung der Einheit Apperzeption auf der Basis einer praktischen Vernunft des sittlichen Lebens wird naher besehen ein Ansatz zur Geltung gebracht, den Kant selbst - wenn auch zogerlich - skizziert hat. Maimons Vorwurf der fatalen Zirkularitat in Kants Beweis synthetischer Urteile a priori vermag, sofern er die notige Zuspitzung erfahrt, durchaus zu uberzeugen.
