Dies trifft auf den marktwirtschaftlich geprägten Konsum- und Dienstleistungsmarkt ebenso zu wie auf die sozialwirtschaftlich, gemeinnützig orientierten Unternehmungen des Dritten Sektors. Im realen Arbeitsalltag findet man diese Kristallisationspunkte wieder in der Form von Organisationsstrukturen, Stellen- und Aufgabenbeschreibungen, Anordnungen, Verfahrensanweisungen und in der Formulierung von Zielen. Dabei kann es sich um strategische, lang-, mittel- oder kurzfristige Ziele handeln. Das verbale oder schriftlich dokumentierte Verhandeln und Festlegen von Zielen findet permanent, oft unbewusst statt. Bewusst organisiert und operrationalisiert findet dies im Rahmen von Zielvereinbarungsgesprächen (ZVG) statt. "Die Ziele einer Organisation mit den MitarbeiterInnen in einer produktiven Weise aktiv zu kommunizieren, ist eine wichtige, aber häufig unterbewertete Aufgabe von Personalverantwortlichen." (Beck/Schwarz 2004, S.9) Um dieser Bedeutung von ZVG gerecht zu werden, sollte die Art der Kommunikationsform mit großer Umsicht, möglichst optimal gewählt werden. Die vorliegende Studienarbeit soll einen Beitrag dazu leisten, indem sie analysiert, ob die Ansätze des Harvard-Konzepts (HK) generell, oder für bestimmte Situationen des ZVG eine geeignete Kommunikations- bzw. Verhandlungsform darstellen. Dazu wird im ersten und zweiten Teil der Arbeit das Wesen, die Formen und Grundzüge von ZVG und HK beschrieben. Im dritten Teil findet dann die Analyse bezüglich der Anwendbarkeit statt. Der Fokus der Betrachtung liegt auf Zielvereinbarungsgesprächen, die im Rahmen von betrieblichen, unternehmerischen Kontexten stehen und wird nicht ausgeweitet auf allgemeine zwischenmenschliche Zielvereinbarungen
