Diese Ausgabe prasentiert die ideengeschichtlich kommentierte deutsche Erstubersetzung der "Antisozinianischen Schriften," welche Comenius 1659 bis 1662 in Amsterdam lateinisch veroffentlichte. Es handelt sich hier um zehn Einzelschriften. Der mahrische Pansoph fuhrt darin eine engagierte Kontroverse mit nicht weniger engagierten Sozinianern, den Trinitatskritikern seiner Zeit, welche als Vorlaufer der rationalistischen Aufklarung zu betrachten sind. Besagte Sozinianer sind Comenius von fruher Jugend an personlich bekannt. Des ofteren versuchten sie ihn, den renommierten Padagogen, auf ihre Seite zu ziehen. Er widerstand jedoch ihren Verlockungen, weil er deren Kritik an der philosophisch reflektierten Trinitat, die als erregender Anfang, gestaltende Mitte und erfullendes Ziel die ontoanalogische Basis seines universal konzipierten Reformprojektes darstellte, nicht akzeptieren konnte. Comenius hat konfessionalistisches Cliquen-Bewusstsein in sich uberwunden. Dies zeigt sich u. a. darin, dass er als Bischof der Bohmisch-Mahrischen Bruder den katholischen Raymundus von Sabunde (+1436) als Argumentationshilfe gegen die sozinianische Priorisierung der formalen Logik ins Feld fuhrt. Er uberarbeitete dessen "Naturliche Theologie" und brachte sie in gut lesbarer Fassung als "Auge des Glaubens" heraus. Was er an Raymundus besonders schatzte, war dessen neuplatonisch inspirierte Darlegung der unlosbaren Verbundenheit von Welt-, Selbst- und Gotteserkenntnis. Die Brisanz der "Antisozinianischen Schriften" besteht, allgemein gesagt, darin, dass sie einen (allzu lange) marginalisierten wirksamen Impuls zur post-nihilistischen Identitatsfindung darbieten."
