English summary: On the basis of original sources that have not previously been evaluated from a historic pedagogical perspective, Klaus-Dieter Beims analyses the real processes at the Paedagogium Regium as a higher school in which classical languages were taught, thus clarifying, among other things, paths of development as well as didactic and methodological shifts in the teaching of Latin. He also looks at the text editions of the works of individual authors used in the classroom as well as their commentaries. The comparison of first and subsequent editions provides interesting revelations concerning shifts in the students' level of knowledge and a general decrease in their grasp of Latin. German description: Anhand bisher noch nicht unter unterrichtsgeschichtlicher Perspektive ausgewerteter Quellmaterialien analysiert Klaus-Dieter Beims die konkreten Ablaufe am Paedagogium Regium als althumanistische Gelehrtenschule und macht so u.a. Entwicklungslinien und didaktische wie methodische Verschiebungen im Lateinunterricht deutlich. Daneben befasst er sich mit den im Unterricht fur die Autorenlekture verwendeten Textausgaben und deren Kommentierung; der Vergleich von Erst- und Folgeauflagen liefert dabei interessante Aufschlusse uber Verschiebungen im Kenntnisstand der Schuler bzw. allgemein abnehmende Lateinkenntnisse. Die von pietistischen Padagogen herausgegeben Textsammlungen romischer Autoren, z.B. der Komodien des Terenz, werden darauf befragt, inwieweit sie in sehr typischer Weise angesichts der prinzipiellen moralischen und religiosen Bedenken der Pietisten gegen Teile der antiken Literatur inhaltlich "entscharft" und damit im pietistischen Kontext benutzbar gemacht wurden. Anhand der normativen Texte fuhrender hallescher Pietisten zeigt der Autor die didaktischen und methodischen Leitlinien fur die Verwendung der an sich ablehnend betrachteten "heidnischen" antiken Texte im Unterricht auf. Insbesondere wird die Vermittlung der in der damaligen Zeit fur gehobene gesellschaftliche Positionen noch erforderlichen aktivsprachlichen Lateinkenntnisse und deren Normierung durch antike und neulateinische Texte als Ziel des Unterrichts deutlich. Im letzten Teil beschaftigt sich Klaus-Dieter Beims dann vergleichend mit dem fruhen Neuhumanismus. Am Beispiel der schulpadagogischen Schriften Johann Matthias Gesners arbeitet er die Unterschiede zwischen Pietismus und Neuhumanismus als zwei wichtige fruhneuzeitliche Bildungskonzeptionen hinsichtlich der didaktischen Begrundung und Zielsetzung sowie der praktischen Durchfuhrung des Lateinunterrichts heraus.
