About the Book

The bights of Benin and Biafra are made up of some of the most interesting people on the planet. Geographically, the area is blessed with rivers, fertile land, the Atlantic Ocean, and natural resources, ranging from sunshine and forestry, to different mineral deposits. The Area is delineated naturally by different Linguistic Ethnic groups and a Linguistic nation (Igbo) which cut across the two bights. The area over the past one thousand years has been overwhelmed by constant excitement of migrations, violent eruptions of slave raids and colonialism. Between the 7th and 15th Century, it hosted a lot of migrants, from the Maghreb (North Africans), whose kingdoms were constantly invaded by Arab slave merchants. This led to over population, and competitions for space. The eastern north was most affected because of the safe channel from north east, Lake Chad axis, which has been the ancient highway from the Maghreb to Equatorial beet of West and Central Africa. Evidence abound that, the River Niger which had been mapped out by the Africa Byzanthine Empire, was navigable. While the Arabian black Muslims (Moors) and the Arabian Almoravids and Almoravads competed for influence and power in the Mediterranean at the fall of the Roman Byzanthyn Empire, The Arab Bedwins from the Middle East descended on North Africa, as an ancient writer puts it, like a locust. They killed the people they could kill, raped the women, and enslaved the young who were castrated and used in ways and manners beyond savagery. Those who made it to West Africa were under constant raids; soon they became commodities when the Portuguese were able to conquer their fear of the sea. West Africans were raided by the sea. Those who escaped overwhelmed the upland again through migrations and competition for the scarce resources. These created animosities among groups yet to bond, or fused by natural evolution. They discovered that war captives would bring in immediate profit, thereby selling them to the Whiteman down at the sea port waiting to buy anything to alleviate the hunger and misery back home caused by an equally bleating Aristocracy. In 1492, in a prison far off in Spain, as Mother Nature had planned in her usual bitchy and uncompromising pissed off mood when humans refuse to see or hear her cries and warning, a prisoner heard a whisper from another black prisoner about a great land west of the Atlantic, a land so rich. Columbus found a new way to solve most of their problems. Hell's gate was let loosed. Africans, or rather black people, became the victims of Mother Nature's pawn of survival. The bights of Benin and Biafra were renamed the Slave Coast, and men began to eat men. At the beginning of the 19th Century, slavery was abolished but not the acquired taste of easy wealth. The area became an official British Colony. A new game of divide and rule to exploit didn't give the haggard remainders time to heal. Today, after almost sixty years of gaining independence, that prejudice, misunderstanding, coupled with a successive system of government similar to the colonial administration, has continued to exploit, divide and impoverish the people in wicked plans of corruption with ever present international mafia systems, who, from all indications, have canned a blackmail able few, and used them to cage the people in a vicious cycle of poverty and ignorance; the old enemy. In all her wealth, perhaps the richest per square meter in the world, her citizens remain the rags of the world, currently been raped from the Sahara desert to the toilets of Europe. Who is that ancestor of ours who said that it is only an idiot who lives by a stream and washes his hands with his spit? I warn you, in this work, there will be no room for the usual. Only facts were employed.
