About the Book

Anteros, en la mitología griega, es el dios del amor no correspondido y, según el filósofo alemán Byung-Chul Han, vivimos en una época hipermoderna (depresión, narcisismo, sentimiento de culpa, trastorno de ansiedad) en la que todo, incluso el amor, se ha convertido en un bien de consumo. Eros (el amor) agoniza porque al vivir en una sociedad narcisista, el narcisista está tan concentrado en su ego que acaba ahogándose en él mismo, lo que no le permite amar a los otros, porque todo es consumible, desechable, lo contrario al amor que "no es posesión y dominio del otro, sino aceptación de su alteridad".

Los poemas visuales de Anteros y paradojas retratan de forma gráfica, irónica, crítica y satírica esta realidad descrita por el filósofo alemán. El libro está dividido en dos partes: Anteros y Paradigmas. Los poemas de la primera parte son una denuncia a la época hipermoderna en la que vivimos, en la que el amor es tan desechable como cualquier objeto que ya no tiene utilidad. El libro empieza con el poema Conversaciones en una tienda, en el que se describe a las personas que entran a un establecimiento comercial a comprar el amor que necesitan para casa ocasión. Algunos se expresan así

"Esa mujer me gusta. / Esa otra mujer me gusta más. / -¿Ya has ido a la sección de hombres? / -Los de esta semana no están apetitosos. // Esa de allá me gusta más. / Esa mujer me gusta un poco menos." El texto continúa con afirmaciones preocupantes: "Esa no me puede gustar de ninguna forma. / Estoy buscando un novio para el fin de semana. / Esa mujer es preferible para hoy. Solo para hoy."

En Déjame pensar, otro poema de la primera parte, los versos, están dispuestos de tal forma que crean una imagen que retrata la agonía del narcisista: "Tal vez te ame // ¿Por qué me pides que te ame? // ¿Amarte? ¿Amarte? ¿Amarte? // ¿Piensas que debo amarte? // La verdad es otra... // ¡Ámame! ¡Ámame! ¡Ámame!"

En Paradigmas, la segunda parte del libro, el autor elabora sus poemas críticos sobre temas diversos, enfatizando principalmente en la dependencia emocional que tienen hoy las personas con la tecnología y la dificultad de tener relaciones humanas en un mundo real. Un ejemplo es Paradoja arcaica, donde escribe: "Quisieron enseñarme a ser inteligente; / pero / no soy tan inteligente / como la Inteligencia Artificial. // La Inteligencia Artificial / se burla de mi inteligencia superficial, / me saca la lengua, / me guiña el ojo con una sonrisa sarcástica, / me saluda con picardía / mientras me prepara una zancadilla / y me dice entre dientes: no eres perfecto / como la Inteligencia Artificial... "
