Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2003 im Fachbereich BWL - Personal und Organisation, Note: 1,7, Hochschule Bremen (Fachbereich Wirtschaft), Veranstaltung: ABWL, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Heutzutage nimmt die Motivation eine Schlüsselposition ein, denn sie beeinflusst das Arbeitsverhalten der Menschen in Bezug auf Beginn, Ausdauer und Zielorientierung der Arbeitsaktivitäten, um nur ein paar Punkte zu nennen. Früher fand eine Tausch zwischen der als Leid empfundenen Arbeit und der Entlohnung statt, um sich in der Freizeit die Bedürfnisbefriedigung zu ermöglichen. Heute ist man der Auffassung, dass die Bedürfnisbefriedigung auch direkt durch die Arbeit erfahren werden kann.1 Die Motive bestimmen in unterschiedlicher Intensität das menschliche Handeln und Verhalten. Sie stehen rangmäßig betrachtet hinter den Bedürfnissen, welche ihrerseits ein allgemeines Mangelempfinden ausdrücken. Hunger zum Beispiel charakterisiert ein Bedürfnis, wohingegen das Verlangen den Hunger zu stillen als Motiv gewertet wird. Liegt nun ein Bedürfnismangel vor, wird im Individuum ein Suchprozess gestartet mit dem Ziel diesen Mangel zu beseitigen und eine Bedürfnisbefriedigung zu erreichen. Die Motivationstheorien stellen die Basis der heutigen Führungslehre dar, denn erst durch die Kenntnis der jeweiligen Motivationsstrukturen können Führungselemente effizienter eingesetzt werden. Von Bedeutung ist dabei die Unterscheidung von Inhalts- und Prozesstheorien. Inhaltstheorien legen den Schwerpunkt auf die Frage "was und welche spezifischen Faktoren den Menschen zur Arbeit motivieren."2 Es werden die Motivinhalte eines Individuums betrachtet. Prozesstheorien versuchen den Motivationsprozess aufzuzeigen, also wie es zum Arbeitsverhalten kommt, es gelenkt und beendet wird.3 Im Folgenden werde ich vier bedeutsame Motivationstheorien, jeweils zwei Inhalts- und zwei Prozesstheorien näher erläutern und ihre Bedeutung für die Arbeitszufriedenheit von Individuen in Unternehmen darlegen.
