Another Gospel is not a book by "another" author, but none other than a true humble servant of Christ, who has earned his stripes from his missionary journeys and exploits in winning souls especially in deserts of faith in Nigeria. It is from this well of experience that he draws strength to deliver that put in him, by the Word of God: our Lord Jesus Christ. He is thus firmly anchored on the shores of grace and Divine Wisdom to embark on this book, on impartation, especially at a time when being 'Born Again' has become a fad.

It is true that the Church in Nigeria, and elsewhere, continues to suffer decline in the riches of God, as we seem to have been lost in false messages of instant gain and many an untruth of what it is to be born again. The book thus issues a timely call to Christians on the essence of being born again. An encounter with Christ, which is what being born again means, should not just be in the heart but in the totality of a person's being. From this Episcopal pen you learn that meeting with Christ brings about a spiritual transformation that affects not only the heart but also the behavior. Using several Biblical examples to demonstrate the quintessence of what it means to be born again, such as the encounters Zacchaeus and Saul had with Christ, the author begins to reveal the truth to the reader; concluding, as it were, that such spiritual regeneration should transcend the heart and reflect in the behavior.

The insidious trend of prosperity preachers does not escape attention since the emphasis on prosperity seems to be robbing the Church of its moral authority, as proceeds of immoral and illegal acts make their way into the Church as offerings, without any questions being asked. This apparently reinforces the disconnect between inner transformation and outward behavioral change that accompanies an encounter with Christ.

The blasé disposition of some Christians whose tergiversation on the essence of Christianity has become pervasive calls for concern.

The quickening of spiritual decline despite the enhanced growth of the Church in Africa, Latin South America and parts of Asia should concern all Christians. As an ordained clergy, one is very much aware of the task of preaching the gospel and winning souls for Christ. Yet, paradoxically, the growth in the Church is not reflected in a corresponding growth in spirituality.

This book practically explains some of the main factors responsible for the spiritual decline, including violent opposition to Christians and Christian life and the propagation of another gospel, which presents a major option for the kingdom of darkness to upset the true gospel of Jesus Christ, wooing so many people, Christians and non-Christians. In a passionate exhortation, the author warns against the danger of dilution of the gospel to meet the expediency of pandering to an audience whose taste is fast changing. He laments what appears to be a weakening of the message of the gospel.

The author delves into profound but accessible theology to elucidate, guide, reproach and warn. Akin to a modern-day John-the-Baptist, the author counsels on the essence of Christianity, cautions against taking our salvation for granted; and remind us of our duty as Christians. He perceptively questions the clergy's role in producing political Christians who swell the congregation, without paying heed to producing genuine lovers of God.
