Love and Betrayal
Are you looking for a thrilling experience? Well, brace yourself for a journey of love, self-discovery, heartbreak, and adultery. It is the story of Anna a beautiful woman married by Karenin who despite being married, went ahead and had a fling with Vronsky. The story also has Kitty, Dolly´s sister who was lucky to have two suitors; Levin and Alexei Vronsky.
We see Kitty choosing Vronsky over Levin which in turn breaks Levin´s heart. After a while Vronsky met Anna and fell in love with her, we see this when he openly confesses his feelings to her even though she at the time. Anna also felt the same for Vronsky, and with that, she started cheating on her husband.
It was not long after the affair started that Karenin learned the horrible truth after his wife confessed the affair to him. Anna requested her husband to grant her a divorce, which he adamantly refused but instead tried to hide this painful truth from the rest of the world by asking her to stay in their country house and pretend they are happily married.
As Tolstoy the author has vividly explained, Kitty after being left by Vronsky for Anna, was devastated and heartbroken. In time she learned from the experience and actually got engaged and married Levin, who later had a child.
After Anna realized she was pregnant for Vronsky she moved to Italy to give birth. Unfortunately, the love between Anna and Vronsky died slowly and all that they remained with is the love for their child. This resulted in a lot of bitterness and jealousy in Anna.
The author gives vivid details of the following also:
- Levin marries Kitty.
- Kitty the caregiver of Nikolai.
- Anna jumps under a train!
