Der vorliegende Sammelband untersucht die Gründe für die Skandale der letzten Jahre auf Unternehmensebene. Warum kam es zu den Verfehlungen bspw. bei der Deutschen Bank und VW, die die Unternehmen und ihre Stakeholder einschließlich der Gesellschaft belasteten? Liegt es an Fehlern in der Organisation oder sind es charakterliche Defizite der Manager? Was kann auf der Unternehmensebene dagegen getan werden? Besteht Handlungsbedarf für den Gesetzgeber? Der erste Beitrag widmet sich konkret den Skandalen bei der Deutschen Bank und VW, aber auch ethischen Problemen bei Lidl und Facebook und dem BP-Skandal DeepWater Horizon, um Schwächen in der Corporate Governance aufzudecken. Der zweite Beitrag untersucht die Bedeutung der Unternehmenskultur als Ursache von ethischen Verfehlungen und als Determinante des betrieblichen Erfolgs. Welche Steuerungsinstrumente stehen hier zur Verfügung? Der Einfluss der Unternehmenskultur wird am Beispiel des Skandals um den Malaysischen Staatsfonds und Goldman Sachs analysiert. Der dritte Beitrag zeigt Instrumente zur ethischen Unternehmenssteuerung auf, die dem Management und den Unternehmenseignern zur Verfügung stehen. Konkret werden hier die Erfolgsmesskonzepte, Compliance- und Integritätsprogramme sowie die Unternehmensziele allgemein und am Beispiel von Siemens untersucht. Der anschließende vierte Beitrag geht der Frage nach, inwiefern die Unternehmensführung Einfluss auf das Verhalten der Mitarbeiter ausüben und somit ein produktives und ethisches Verhalten sicherstellen kann. Es wird zudem untersucht, ob ethische Führung sich negativ oder positiv auf den Unternehmenserfolg auswirkt.
