Every parent's nightmare turned into reality for Judith Heise when she went to get her infant daughter Kimberly out of her crib one morning-only to find that she'd perished in the night from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. With another young daughter and her husband relying on her, Judith battled through the thick fog of sadness, anger, and doubt in order to carry on her duties as a wife and mother.
Part memoir, part love letter, part tale of the death and rebirth of one woman's faith in God, Angel on Our Bedpost is a story of deep sadness and abiding hope in utter darkness. Written as a letter to Kimberly, Judith shares memories of her daughter's short, wondrous life and assures Kimberly that she will never be forgotten or replaced in her family's hearts.
Though Judith still doesn't understand the reason for Kimberly's tragic death, she has come to peace with the sovereignty of God and the ultimate goodness of his plan. It is from this belief that Judith hopes to touch the hearts of anyone who has lost a loved one, or their faith, in life's darkest moments.
About the Author: Judith Heise suffered tragedy as a young mother when her infant daughter died from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Besides her daughter in heaven, Judith is the mother of three adult children and currently lives in Ohio with her husband.
Though Judith intended to achieve Master Gardener status by this stage of life, she's pleased to discover that serving as the "Master's gardener" at the lovely country church she attends offers much more fulfillment. Beyond sharing heart-shaped peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with her two grandsons, Judith also enjoys quality time on her front porch with family, friends, and neighbors during warm months. Colder temperatures find her delighting in the chatter of a toasty fire while journaling, catching up on her writing, or baking cookies. Judith readily answers to Judy, Mom, Mother, and Grammy-but of all those names, Grammy is by far her favorite.
