Doch ist dieses Qualitätsversprechen heute noch umsetzbar? Im stetig anhaltenden Wettbewerb um die Marktanteile vermögender Kunden, nimmt der Druck auf die Banken immer mehr zu. Viele Kreditinstitute (KI) haben diesen Markt und die damit verbundenen Erträge für sich entdeckt. Schon einige Zeit sind euphorisierende Zahlen im Umlauf, die darauf schließen lassen, wie ertragreich eine gute Positionierung in diesem Geschäft sein kann. Aus diversen Presseartikeln und Studien ist zu entnehmen, dass rund 1,3 Mio Haushalte über ein Vermögen von mehr als 250.000 verfügen. Im Kampf um das begehrte Klientel kommt dem Berater dabei eine immer höhere Schlüsselfunktion zu. Im Gegensatz zum Retail Banking (standardisiertes Privatkundengeschäft) ist das Private Banking, so wie seine Kunden, sehr anspruchsvoll und von großer Individualität geprägt. Der PB-Berater ist somit Bindeglied und Repräsentant für das Image seiner Bank. "Die Anforderungen an einen PB-Berater sind in den letzten Jahren im fachlichen sowie sozialen Bereich gestiegen. Durch den intensiven Wettbewerb gilt es sich von anderen Instituten abzugrenzen", sagt Sascha Brodmann, Abteilungsdirektor Private Banking der Sparkasse Kraichgau.
