The Ancient Knowledge of universal laws can help us lead fulfilled and purposeful lives, and can enrich your life today.
Nothing we experience has not occurred before. Nations rise and fall, and cultural expectations change, but human nature is fundamentally the same as it was when Jesus, Moses, Confucius, Buddha, and Socrates were alive. The universal laws that govern our lives today are fundamentally the same ones that guided ancient civilizations.
In Ancient Wisdom Can Enrich Your Life Today, lifelong student and teacher of philosophy John Adago offers a thought-provoking collection of essays filled with quotations, stories, and parables from ancient and modern thinkers-philosophers, religious leaders, scientists, economists, and more-from around the world. He also includes simple exercises to help you make practical use of the wisdom of the ages.
Provides wisdom and practical guidance to refine attention, increase efficency, expand awareness; and insights on love, finances, prosperity and adversity. Quotes, stories, exercises, from teachers and sages of past centuries and modern thinkers who continue the Work toward fulfilling the highest purpose of a human life and the spirital journey toward enlightenment.
About the Author: John Adago has studied Eastern and Western philosophy for over fifty years and has had the privilege of studying with many of the master philosophy teachers of the modern era. Wilhelm Nyland, for instance, introduced him to the work of George Ivanovich Gurdjieff.
The author was born in a family with a strong sense of religious tradition and has found the study of philosophy and the practice of religion have illuminated both.
A member of the New York School of Practical Philosophy, he has led groups in the study of world philosophy, economics, and meditation.
Over the years Adago has been a businessman and entrepreneur. He has founded several corporations, lectured, and written on philosophy. He is the author of East Meets West and a soon-to-be-published collection of children's stories, A Grandfather's Tales.
Married for over forty years, Adago is a father and grandfather. He is available for speaking engagements and can be contacted at johnadago@gmail.com.
