Studienarbeit Universität München: 132 Seiten. Wie lässt sich der Roman "Der Junge im gestreiften Pyjama" optimal im lektürebegleitenden Deutschunterricht einsetzen?Der vom irischen Autor John Boyne verfasste Roman handelt von einer ungewöhnlichen Freundschaft zweier Jungen in einem Konzentrationslager zur Zeit des Zweiten Weltkrieges. Beide Jungen leben auf der jeweils anderen Seite des Zaunes. Das Interesse der Leserinnen und Leser wird nicht alleine durch die Handlung geweckt, sondern vor allem durch die bislang noch recht ungewohnte Erzählperspektive, nämlich aus der Sicht des deutschen Kindes.

Dieser Aspekt, sowie wichtige sprachliche und stilistische Besonderheiten und deren Funktionen bzw. Wirkungsweisen, werden in dieser Studienarbeit genauer analysiert, Auch werden die beiden aufeinander bezogenen Romanfiguren Bruno und Schmuel charakterisiert. Da sich der Roman sehr gut als Klassenlektüre im Unterricht einsetzen lässt, werden weiters sinnvolle Anregungen und Einsatzmöglichkeiten für einen fächerübergreifenden Unterricht vorgestellt.

Im zweite Teil der Arbeit werden die lektürebegleitenden Materialien verschiedener Schulverlage hinsichtlich ihres didaktischen Aufbaues und ihrer Verständlichkeit für Schüler und Lehrer untersucht. Die Arbeit enthältzusätzliche einen kompetenzbezogenen Unterrichtsverlaufsplan zur Thematik der im Roman vorkommenden Vaterfigur.
