Inhaltsangabe: Einleitung: Efficient Consumer Response (ECR) hat wie kaum ein anderes Konzept die Zusammenarbeit zwischen Konsumgüterindustrie und Handel in den letzen Jahren geprägt und verändert. Die in der Presse immer wieder dargestellten Berichte über unzufriedene Kunden sind Abbild des herrschenden Marktklimas in Deutschland. Der Leitspruch: „Der Kunde ist König" kann in Deutschland ergänzt werden durch: „Der Verkäufer ist Kaiser." Derzeit herrscht eine hohe Diskrepanz in den Prozessen zwischen Anspruch und Wirklichkeit. Im Zuge stagnierender Konsumgütermärkte, eines massiven Verdrängungswettbewerbs im Handel und eines hohen Konkurrenzdrucks in der Industrie hat das kooperative und wirtschaftsstufenübergreifende Strategiekonzept ECR große Popularität erlangt. Andreas Günther, Leiter Trade Marketing Henkel, brachte es auf den Punkt, als er sagte: „Die Zeit des Wachstums ist vorbei, nun geht es mit ECR an die Potentialausschöpfung." Die einzelnen Basiskomponenten des ECR bieten für Handel und Hersteller die Chance, auf dem Weg weitreichender Kooperationen dem Dilemma der Wertvernichtung unausgeschöpfter Potentiale entlang der Wertschöpfungskette zu entkommen. Im Mittelpunkt stehen dabei bisher kaum genutzte Komplementärbeziehungen zwischen Industrie, Handel und Logistik, welche in Zukunft zum Wohle des Kunden durch ECR perfektioniert werden sollen. Problem ist es nun die wesentlichen Faktoren zu ermitteln, die maßgeblich über eine erfolgreiche Einführung und Verwirklichung des ECR entscheiden und damit die Situation für Hersteller, Handel und vor allem die der Konsumenten entscheidend verbessern. Dabei liegt, wie in der Themenstellung gefordert, ein wesentlicher Schwerpunkt in der Herleitung und Erläuterung der Bedeutung von Erfolgspotentialen. ECR ist in der Praxis das Thema der Stunde und die Unternehmen wollen es machen! Aber kann ECR überhaupt „gemacht" werden? Im Rahmen der Diplomarbeit wird das Ziel verfolgt, daß Konzept des ECR transparent darzustellen
