About the Author: Danny de Gracia is a political scientist, an ordained minister, and a former senior staffer to the House Standing Committee on Human Services (2005-2006) and the House Standing Committee on International Affairs (2007-2008) at the Hawaii State Legislature. From 2011 to 2013, he served as an elected Honolulu municipal board member. Formerly a columnist for the Washington Times Online Communities section (2012-2014) and the Hawaii Filipino Chronicle (2007 to 2010), he has profiled countless celebrities and policymakers and his opinions have been featured or cited worldwide.
