About the Book

A common, everyday American citizen named Kevin Eye saw the following and it was not good: It is a most tenuous time in America's history. For many, the American Dream has become a faded memory; replaced by a toxic mix of corrupted political insiders, bailouts, rising national debt, wasteful spending and ruthless corporate leadership. Ineffectual, cookie-cutter politicians have become indifferent to their constituents and indebted to special interests. Big businesses hold communities hostage for better deals or uproot their entire operation for corporate welfare. The banking industry has run amuck without fear of failure in the name of absurd profits. All the while, personal liberties have declined while taxes, fees, levies and permit requirements have exploded. Is there any way to return America to its past glory or is all hope lost? American Fail is a poignant, inspiring, humorous and occasionally irreverent romp through the current American social, business and political scene. Riddled with pop-culture references and scathing rebukes of the system, this rant follows one common American citizen's awakening to what's wrong, who is to blame and how to fix it. American Fail is a must read for patriots, aspiring politicians and anyone who consistently asks the question "what the hell is going on?"
About the Author: Kevin Terrance Eye was born in Steubenville, Ohio in 1972, the son of a union steel worker father and a stay-at-home mother. Kevin lived in Steubenville until 1990, when he graduated from Wintersville High School. He moved to Cleveland, Ohio and attended Case Western Reserve University. In 1994, Kevin graduated from CWRU with a Bachelor's of Science in nursing degree. Kevin has worked in clinical and nursing management for over 17 years in a wide variety of nursing settings including long-term care, hospice, developmental disability and regulatory. So does being a nursing manager make someone an expert in the American political scene? Not usually, but that didn't stop our author from writing a scathing rebuke of where America is currently headed and how those asleep at the wheel are responsible. Kevin has sharpened his passion for satirical political observations over the past 20 years, cumulating in American Fail. Extensively researched, this poignant and humorous rant against the current American political scene inundates the reader with machine gun rapid criticisms of our current political leaders and their actions (or lack thereof). Politicians may not like what Kevin has to say, but common Americans will agree that is doesn't take a political science major or TV pundit to thoughtfully express dissatisfaction while inspiring a forgotten nation to action. Kevin lives outside Cleveland, Ohio with his wife and son. His interests include politics, sports, writing and owning a nice pair of slacks. American Fail is his literary debut.
