About the Author: Much of Chuck Miceli's professional career has been in the field of criminal and juvenile justice. He was a Training Officer at a maximum-security prison, a Resource Center Coordinator for the National Institute of Corrections, and Chief of Curriculum at the Connecticut Justice Academy. He has also been a Curriculum Specialist, a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Manager of the Connecticut Executive Management program and President of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Connecticut. His co-authored text, Fire Behind Bars, was the first book in the U.S. to deal with deadly fires in secure institutions and put him on the national stage as a speaker and consultant. He has delivered programs on criminal justice, juvenile justice, professional development and management throughout the U.S. He has consulted to educational institutions, professional associations and government organizations at the local, state and national levels and he has authored professional journal articles, government profiles and nationally distributed lesson plans.
