About the Author: Jackie-Lynn M. Brown, PhD, earned her doctorate degree in organization management, with a specialization in leadership, from Capella University in 2014. Her research centered on the personal growth of service members who had grown increasingly resilient through their experiences with adversity. As an enlisted aviator, she traveled to over forty countries, served with some of the nation's highest-ranking dignitaries, and accumulated over four-thousand flying hours with the US Air Force. During her time in the Air Education and Training Command, she developed and facilitated technical training for the Career Enlisted Aviator Center of Excellence and wrote and facilitated enlisted professional military education courses for international and total force senior noncommissioned officers. To close out her thirty years of active-duty service, she was honored with the opportunity of writing the Air Force Handbook 1, Airman v2019.
