About the Author: Der Autor, in Hannover geboren und dort - mit einer Unterbrechung im Oberharz während des Krieges - zur Schule gegangen, studierte nach dem Abitur einige Semester Germanistik, als Hauptfach jedoch Jura in Göttingen und Münster in Westfalen. Nach dem ersten Staatsexamen, den Stationen der Referendarzeit in Westfalen und Niedersachsen und dem großen juristischen Staatsexamen, begann er eine Ausbildung im Nachwuchskader für das Personalmanagement eines großen internationalen Konzerns. Sein in diesem Rahmen zunächst wechselnder Einsatz führte ihn über Hamburg schließlich nach Mannheim, wo er als Personalleiter eines großen Industriebetriebes des Konzerns tätig war. Im Rhein-Neckar-Raum heimisch geworden, lebt er mit seiner Familie in Plankstadt, einem Nachbarort von Schwetzingen, nah zwischen Mannheim und Heidelberg gelegen. Zeitlebens ein Freund der Literatur, standen für ihn in den späteren Jahren mehr und mehr historische Themen dabei im Vordergrund.
