How far will the rich and beautiful of Dallas go to keep the depths of their perversion and depravity a secret?
Two unlikely partners, Detectives Chance Waters and Carlie McBayne, are about to find out. McBayne, a thrill seeking girl from Chicago who's obsessed with the band the Eagles is on a pilgrimage to Winslow, AZ because she's convinced she's the girl in the flatbed Ford.
But fate finds her patrolling the dangerous streets of Dallas where she has an old score to settle with thugs and drug dealers.
She's partnered with brilliant but eccentric detective Waters, a socially "challenged" recluse haunted by his own past trauma. Investigating an accidental death in the upscale suburb of Southlake, they suspect a cover-up by some of the city's most high-profile citizens. To prove it, they must overcome threats and intimidation from the elite, as well as their own demons.
Their diverse styles and personalities create an oddly effective and highly entertaining partnership.
"Already Gone" is the first in a three book series, with graphic scenes appropriate for mature readers.
About the Author: When Jeremy Lawrence won his first writing award in High School, it wasn't thanks to a glowing submission (he didn't enter one). So, he headed off to college with a poetry scholarship, but his real aspiration was a baseball career. He soon discovered he had a unique talent for programming computers, and so the baseball and writing would have to wait. Fast-forward twenty-five years, Lawrence is now the proud author of thousands of computer programs with his literary output limited to greeting cards and Facebook essays. In the end it was a family tragedy that convinced Lawrence life was too short to pass with his stories still inside him, and so he wrote his debut novel, Already Gone, a comedic murder mystery simmering with intrigue, and a dash of romance. A lifelong Eagles fan, Lawrence is currently working on the second book in the three book series, all inspired by some of his favourite songs (and yes, that is a band shirt in his headshot). When he isn't writing he can be found coaching girls' softball, boating and kayaking the pristine waters of the Florida Keys, and being a proud father to his two gorgeous daughters.
