Suffolk usa la potente arma della corruzione per ottenere dagli indiani i permessi di sfruttamento minerario, ma un efferato omicidio all'interno della riserva sconvolge i suoi piani e innesca una spirale di cieca violenza che trascinerà tutti verso il baratro.

Duro e spietato, Along The River è una favola nera che devasta anche i rapporti più intimi come quelli tra padre e figlio; sarà la grandezza della natura selvaggia - muta e impassibile dinanzi alle miserie umane - a dilatare i toni crepuscolari dell'intera vicenda e ad accentuarne il carattere epico.

Il miglior pregio di questa storia è quello di concentrarsi maggiormente sulla psicologia, sulle emozioni più nascoste di ogni singolo personaggio, di trattenere il genere in un certo senso, di non farlo esplodere come succedeva negli spaghetti western, di non renderlo stereotipato come fosse un western americano classico, ma di raccontare la drammaticità degli eventi attraverso sensazioni, anime che vagano senza una meta ... "

Western originale dai toni crepuscolari, dove emerge il disegno dei paesaggi e degli ambienti in cui si muovono i personaggi, dettagliatamente descritti nel loro presente e capaci di accendere la curiosità del lettore. Per tutto questo, e per la spontaneità dei dialoghi, risulta evidente l'attitudine dello scrittore a costruire costantemente situazioni, in cui ci si trova ad essere anche "spettatori visivi" di un vero e proprio western- dark movie, congiuntura che evidenzia il fatto che abbiamo in mano, non solo un romanzo, ma anche un'opera cinematografica.

Along The River è la sua opera d'esordio e da questo soggetto è già stata tratta una prima versione cinematografica. Il cortometraggio Along The River, interpretato da Franco Nero e diretto da Daniele Nicolosi, è stato premiato a Los Angeles e agli American Movie Awards 2016 di Las Vegas come miglior opera straniera.
